Applications

Circulating Tumor Cells

Enrich rare EpCAM-expressing circulating tumor cells from whole blood for downstream cellular and molecular research.

SAMPLE Whole Blood
TARGET EpCAM-Expressing Cells
INPUT RANGE 1 mL – 50 mL*
RARE CELL ENRICHMENT

When the target is rare, enrichment becomes critical.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are intact tumor-derived cells found in the bloodstream. Because they can occur at very low abundance relative to surrounding blood cells, enrichment is an important upstream step before CTC detection and characterization.1

Unlike cell-free nucleic acids, intact CTCs retain cellular morphology and can provide access to both cellular and molecular information. Enriched CTC populations can support research workflows including immunocytochemistry, nucleic acid analysis, PCR, sequencing, and cell-based studies.1

The Revolution CTC Enrichment Kit (Epithelial Origin) uses anti-EpCAM antibodies and proprietary magnetic bead technology to enrich intact, viable EpCAM-expressing epithelial-derived CTCs from human whole blood.

RARE CELL TARGET

Focus the population

DOWNSTREAM FLEXIBILITY

More research options

Carry enriched cells into cellular, imaging, and molecular research workflows.

THE CTC CHALLENGE

Find the rare cells before you characterize them.

Whole blood contains an overwhelming background of erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, and other cellular material. Against that background, CTCs can represent an extremely rare target population.

Enrichment reduces background and concentrates the targeted cell population, creating a more practical starting point for downstream cellular and molecular characterization.

RARE CELL ENRICHMENT Reduce the background. Concentrate the target. Preserve the cells.
RARE TARGET Enrich before downstream analysis
EpCAM-TARGETED ENRICHMENT

From whole blood to an enriched CTC population.

The Revolution CTC workflow combines antibody-based targeting with magnetic enrichment to concentrate EpCAM-expressing epithelial-origin cells from whole blood.

The goal is not simply to detect a marker. It is to recover an enriched population of intact cells that can be carried into downstream research workflows.

TARGETING SCOPE This is an EpCAM-dependent enrichment workflow designed for epithelial-origin CTCs displaying the EpCAM epitope.

A BROADER LIQUID BIOPSY VIEW

One blood sample can provide access to multiple analyte classes.

Whole blood contains both plasma-based and cellular analytes. Plasma can provide access to circulating cell-free nucleic acids, while the cellular fraction can be used for CTC enrichment.

nRichDX has demonstrated coordinated Revolution workflows in which different fractions from the same whole-blood sample are used for CTC enrichment and cfDNA or cfTNA extraction.
